For years, we walked the journey of wedding filmmaking as individuals, each of us a stand-alone storyteller. Our story began during a simple break-time conversation, where we uncovered something profound: every person carries their own unique color and brilliance.
That realization sparked a desire to combine our ideas, passions, and talents. We saw the potential of something greater—an unstoppable team.
With this vision in our hearts, Maerakee was born in Bali, May 2017. Since then, it’s been an extraordinary journey of growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments—and the story is far from over!
What do you think makes your videography style unique compared to others in Bali?
Our brand is MAERAKEE, inspired by the Greek word “meraki”, meaning “to do something with your soul.” This word perfectly embodies our philosophy.
We believe that true beauty lies in authenticity—natural, timeless moments that leave a profound impact on the sacred union of two souls. We are drawn to people who express their feelings openly and honestly, as genuine connections are at the heart of what we do. Capturing raw emotions and preserving those authentic, fleeting moments is our greatest joy.
A few things to know about us: we are passionate about light and shadows, constantly inspired by the interplay between them. Filmmaking is more than our craft—it’s the bond that unites the three of us. We deeply value the trust our clients place in us, allowing us to create freely and passionately, in our own unique way.
Can you share a memorable wedding video project you’ve worked on and what made it special?
We believe every wedding is unique, filled with its own special moments. But here in Indonesia—a land blessed with diverse tribes and cultures—there’s something truly magical about weddings that blend modern elements with rich traditions.
From the vibrant dances and songs of Papua, the heartfelt "mangulosi" cloth ceremony of North Sumatra, to the powerful Haka dance performed during dinner by guests from New Zealand—these moments hold a special place in our hearts.
It’s these beautiful intersections of culture, tradition, and love that inspire us the most, reminding us of the timeless connections that bring people together.
How do you work with couples to ensure their wedding video reflects their personalities and story?
We create a space where every couple can share their stories freely. We listen closely, embracing their uniqueness, and building trust along the way. It’s in these spontaneous, raw moments that true magic unfolds.

Bali’s breathtaking landscapes and pristine nature create the perfect backdrop for love stories. Blessed with stunning beaches and mesmerizing scenery, this island becomes an extraordinary canvas for capturing the sacred union of two souls—a setting where every moment feels timeless and unforgettable.
How do you handle unexpected challenges during a wedding shoot, like weather changes or technical issues?
Our mission is simple: to be fully present for our lovely couples, no matter what the day brings. While sunny skies make for a cheerful celebration, rain often offers something even more enchanting—a unique backdrop for cinematic storytelling.
In Balinese culture, rain is seen as a blessing from the universe, and we love sharing this perspective with our couples. Rain has a way of slowing things down, creating a warm, intimate, and sentimental atmosphere. The dramatic skies, glistening raindrops, and lush landscapes come together in perfect harmony, crafting wedding videos that feel deeply emotional and timeless.
What’s the most rewarding feedback you’ve received from a couple about their wedding video?
There’s nothing more heartwarming than when our couples return to share their milestones and celebrate anniversaries with us.
